The Experimental Station (Wilmington DE) is a main research, product development and customer support center. Scientists at the Experimental Station, engineers and technicians, meet new technical challenges every day - from research and development to plant scale-up to operations and marketing - in a constant drive for quality, efficiency, and customer service. The research center provides consultancy to manufacturers in the automotive, appliance, electronics, filtration, sporting goods and consumer products industry.
Dow DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers business, one of Dow DuPont's mainn businesses, is working on thermoplastic resins and elastomers to provide solutions to the fuutre challenges of our global customers in many industries.
To support the development of our research and development team, we are looking for a
R&D Chemist (Delrin®)
who would be located at the Experimental Station, Wilmington, Delaware, and whose main responsibilities will be to:
Identify, assess and develop new scientific conceptsand/or technologies and/or products to provide solutions to identified problems,this in close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders in allregions
Manage scientific, technical, or information projects,coordinating with other professionals, such as manufacturing, marketing, sales,and support personnel to accomplish specific project objectives.
Be an active member of a R&D community of the ExperimentalStation, participating to all core values programs and related activities aswell as the global Delrin® Technology to drive growth in all regions
Essential: (candidatemust have these in order to be considered for the job)
Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materialscience or related disciplines
Experience ofpolymer related fields like processing, rheology, physical testing, analyticsetc.; industrial experience in this field would be a plus
Open, innovative mind set
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work ina diverse, multi-functional, multi-national team
Proactivity and self-initiative to manage prioritieswith minimal supervision
Excellence in project management
· Experience in Delrin® or related polymers
· Experience in polymer manufacturing
· Experience in regulatory aspects of polymer science
· Good understanding of mechanics.
· Business education (MBA or evidence of business classes)
