Scale-up Process Engineer (Job Number: 194881W-01)
DowDuPont Electronics and Imaging is seeking to fill the position of Scale-Up Process Engineer. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary process engineering and chemistry team in the Engineering and Science organization aimed at the scale-up and commercialization of growth and emerging technologies projects from the Electronics and Imaging division. The position will provide engineering support in a team environment of multistep organic synthesis and process development. Preference will be given to candidates with pilot plant, kilolab engineering, and practical hands-on experience in a process development lab setting.
Follow DowDuPont Safety & Engineering Standards, OSHA, NFPA and other standards to ensure safe operations and work environment.
Active participation in Process Hazard Assessments for new equipment and critical analysis of current operations to engineer improvements.
Engineering Process Development and support
Develop robust and scalable unit operations to ensure readiness for commercialization as part of a team.
Engineering support for tech transfer packages to contract manufacturers. Characterize process variables and define boundary conditions as part of the basic data generation process.
Continuous improvement of processes and tools to provide target materials at the required specifications with a scalable process.
Process Piloting & Customer Sample Supply
Prove out optimized processes at pilot scale using reactor systems up to 100L, filtration systems, and other unit operations while delivering written operating instructions for manufacturing.
Meet business demands for materials supply in support of customer qualifications.
Proven track record of meeting project goals on aggressive timelines.
Chemical Engineering knowledge related to batch processes, formulation, filtration, crystallization, distillation, and drying.
Mechanical Aptitude and Creativity – process piping, equipment design, controls, electrical
Conducting Hazardous Operations Safely
Electronic materials a plus
BS/MS Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
3 Years Industrial Experience
Excellent organization and communication skills
Strong project management skills
Experience in an R&D or pilot plant environment preferred
Willingness to work hands-on in a lab or pilot area > 50% time
