The DuPont Corporate Remediation Group is seeking an experienced SHE professional to lead its SHE Program in support of environmental remediation projects.

The successful candidate will serve in a SHE leadership role in support of environmental remediation projects. The job will be based in the US and focus on projects at DuPont remediation sites throughout the US, EMEA & LA on both active and inactive sites. In this role, the successful candidate will provide in-depth expertise on safety, health and environment to line management. Sets standards, compiles reports and submits to various regulatory agencies. Services may include: safety, contractor safety, occupational health, process safety, fire protection, environmental, distribution, and ergonomics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SHE Management

  • Advises and assists the CRG inimplementing Corporate SHE policies and applicable guidelines.

  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT,& Environmental regulations.

  • Develops, manages, and maintains SHEprotocol and policies for CRG activities.

  • Serves as the CRG contact forCorporate SHE initiatives, such as the ergonomics team, contractor safety,global environmental competency team.

  • Interfaces with Project teams and Sourcing toqualify vendors and resolve vendor safety issues.

  • Develops & implements functionalexcellence.

  • Manages injury/illness cases.

  • Lead Environmental managementsystems within CRG including waste management activities conducted bycontractors. Ensure compliance with regulations and DuPont standards.

  • Manages the implementation of the safety audit programfor both 1 st and 2 nd party.

Team Leadership

  • Recognized safety leader, setting overall direction,goals & objectives for the program.

  • Demonstrates flexibility to adapt and lead change ofcourse if necessary.

  • Shares knowledge through coaching/mentoring.

  • Exhibits excellent verbal/written skills.

Consultant Management

  • Serves as liaison between CRG and alliance partner’sCorporate Safety & Program Manager.

  • Provides direction for Alliance safety professionals.

  • Develops SHE strategies for the program working withAlliance Partner.

Internal/ExternalCommunications

  • Maintains internal/external networks with SBU andCorporate SHE resources, legal and medical.

  • Provides technical guidance for OH advocacy efforts.

Safety/OH/Env

  • Provides leadership and functional guidance to projectteams for safe implementation of field activities.

  • Conducts incident investigations using RCFA to ensurethat root cause(s) has been identified, keylearnings shared and corrective actions implemented.

  • Provides H&S consulting to project teams from frontend loading through project implementation.

  • Responsible for personal safety.

  • Ensures regulatory training requirements are current.

  • Responsible for tracking environmental deviations.

Business

  • Formulates key learnings and communicates toorganization.

  • Promotes awareness of safety issues through trainingseminars, safety meetings, fact sheets and team meetings.

  • Participates in internal networks.

  • Collects and calculates safety data for input into theCorporate Safety database.

  • Leverages safety training (HAZWOPER) to other SBU’s.

  • Manages budget for H&S program costs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS/MS in, Safety /OH Management, Science, Engineering,Geology or equivalent field

  • Minimum of 10 years in chemical industry, or environmentalconsulting

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA general industry and constructionstandards,

  • Technical Writing in Health & Safety Plans

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Safety Audit

  • 3 – 5 years of experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis(RCFA)

  • Ability and willingness to travel (overnight) up to 25%across US and some global locations.
